We headed to Bakersfield last weekend to spend time with our Biola friends. It was our first ever “Boochcation” (a name the boys used in college….) Our friend Nick’s uncle owns a ranch in the middle of nowhere, and it was amazing and so much fun. There were 9 couples and 16 children (6 and under)….so as expected there was chaos, but surprisingly not as much as you would expect. We spend three days just hanging out, talking, letting our kids play, and playing games. The ranch was awesome it had a water ski lake, we jet skied, went down the huge waterslide, played on the beach, jumped on the trampoline, played on the blob and water obstacle course, rode golf carts, looked at the random selection of animals that lived there, and enjoyed all staying in one big house and making community meals. The kids had a blast and it was so fun to watch them all play together and get along so well. The guys got some good time together and the girls even got to escape one afternoon to float in the lake and chat. We are so blessed by our friendships with these people. Although we don’t all live near each other anymore, we always seem to come back together and have a great time together and no it is fun to see our kids building relationships with each other. Plans are already in the making for next summer’s vacation together.
