We had our 2nd Annual 4th of July Parade & Pancakes this morning. A bunch of neighborhood kids and our family met to celebrate the 4th together. It was fun to have everyone together. Grandma E even made the trip up to watch the parade. Daddy was the parade leader again this year. The Vanden Akker boys seem to think the parade is a race, so they have a hard time staying behind daddy, but they enjoy what they think is a competition. After the parade we enjoyed a pancake breakfast. Thanks to Uncle Ken and grandpa for being the pancake makers this year. The kids ran a round and played in the street and ended the morning with another PJ party out on the front grass. It was a special morning celebrating the birthday of our country and being with family and friends. We took lots of pictures as you can tell…something about everyone being patriotic and all dressed in red, white, and blue just makes me want to capture the moment☺ Happy 4th of July!!!!
We went to grandpa and grandma’s house on the 3rd for a family BBQ and swim. It was a great day for Luke. He finally ventured into the pool with his floaties on, but he was so brave and was swimming all over the pool. He swims so cute…his body is up and down so it looks like he is running and he has the biggest smile on his face while he tries to keep his head above water. We were very proud of him for being so brave and figuring out that he can have a great time swimming in the pool. Way to go LUKEY!!!
Aunt T.T. also gave the boys Mohawk haircuts for the parade and practiced painting their faces. They both decided the morning of the parade that they didn’t want to have their faces painted in the parade, but Aunt T.T and Uncle Jesse had great intentions of making the boys look awesome. Andrew did let them spray his hair red and blue though.
our new swimmer!!!
