We started our Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve day with the Nederveld family. We met in the morning at a rest home so the kids could deliver cookies, cards, and coloring. We did this last year and the kids enjoyed it and we enjoyed the opportunity it gave all of us to reflect making Christmas special for others. We then headed to grandpa and grandma's house to exchange gifts, eat, and hang out. We surprised grandpa and grandma this year with matching beach cruisers. A highlight of the day was watching them ride up and down their street on them. We ended the evening at the Christmas Eve service at church. Our church does a lot of fun things on Christmas eve so after the service the kids visited the live nativity scene, went to the petting zoo, had hot coco, and did a few crafts. Our friend Richard was running around as an elf, so they loved getting pictures with him. It was great to be at church with family and so many friends celebrating the birth of Jesus. Then it was off to our house to spread out reindeer food, put our Santa'a cookies, and snuggle three little excited kids into bed.
