A SOGGY WET EGG HUNT

We had our annual neighborhood egg hunt this evening. It was very rainy, windy, and wet. We were hoping it would clear up a little this afternoon, but the weather only got worse. The great part about kids is that they really don't care, so we went ahead with the hunt...besides I had a garage full of eggs that people had been dropping off at our house all week. We extended the invitation this year to our new kindergarten friends that also live in other parts of our neighborhood. It was fun to have some of them join us. The street was crazy when the kids started hunting....wind, rain, freezing parents, excited kids, and wet kids. After the hunt we had a pizza dinner, which we served in the garage and then all the kids ate on our living room floor. I put down a lot of blankets for them to sit on and it worked. You literally could not walk across the floor, but the kids were content eating and looking at their eggs. It wasn't our normal egg hunt where we stay outside and play until it gets dark, but it worked considering the weather. The kids had fun and that's what matters.
